Some Important Notes
About Our Frames

All frames are unique and hand crafted to your specifications. Because of this each frame may have slight variations in finish that makes it unique.

All frames come with a dusting of rottenstone. You can modify the finish to suit your needs by using a soft cloth to wipe down the frame to enhance the high points.

Never use water to clean any frame. The water will combine with the rottenstone and turn it black.

Surface cracking finishes are a natural process. The size, length and degree of cracking cannot be guaranteed.

Due to the individuality of our leafers, the amount of cracking of leaves of simulated gold or silver leaf will vary.

We cut each frame 3/16 inch (1/2 cm) larger than the size you specify. We call this the 'Allowance.' This is to give you some fitting room for your artwork. If you wish a different allowance, please let us know that when placing your order. We can also cut frames to 'Sight Size.'

Sight Size is the amount of image you see when the artwork is placed in the frame. To order Site Size, please tell us exactly how much image you wish to show when your piece is framed.
